Youpret was founded because of a desire to help those in the most vulnerable positions in our society. Without common language even small things can become insuperable obstacles in life.
We truly believe in the transformative power of business. Together, we can define a new level of corporate responsibility by focusing on concrete actions and verified, unquestionable results instead of empty rhetoric.
We want to effect change for the better in our society. In particular, we influence through the following stakeholders.
We help immigrants find their place and purpose in society. Being understood plays a key role in integration and in fulfilling basic human needs. Our interpreters help people say what they want, not just what they can.
We meet people fleeing from crises, and assist them with the basics of everyday situations. For us, the humane encounter with another person is always the most important thing.
Also, companies need international talent, and the successful integration of people is key to maintaining competitiveness.
We help immigrants to get the basic services in their native language every day.
We offer job opportunities to everyone, regardless of ethnic background, gender or other personal factors. Our technology enables us to share interpreting assignments effortlessly.
We make the meaningful work done by interpreters more visible and valued. We are leading the way by developing new standards for better working conditions across the entire field of interpreting.
As concrete measures, we have organized onsite trainings and online discussions for our interpreter network. We pay interpreters’ fees fairly and transparently.
We have developed our own Youpret Academy learning application, where our interpreters can enhance their knowledge about the interpretation field and related topics for free. Youpret Academy is currently available in Finnish, and more English content is under development.
We are a workplace where diversity is valued and where everyone can be completely themselves. According to an employee survey, our workers appreciate Youpret’s team spirit, equal treatment, opportunities for contribution and development, our own technology and the meaningfulness of the work.
As a concrete measure, we provide jobs and internships for people who otherwise have difficulty finding them (for example, immigrants and the long-term unemployed.)
We actively promote diversity, equality, and inclusion throughout the entire Youpret community for example with recruitment, training, Youpret Academy, as well as employee and culture handbooks.
The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals form a global frame of reference according to which companies can plan and execute actions to promote sustainable development.
Youpret has the greatest impact in the following goals within the frame:
Sustainability is at the core of our operation and we favor sustainable practices in our everyday work.
Transparency is a key value for us, which is why we want to publicly share information about our operation and practices. Our sustainability report provides a comprehensive overview of our commitment to creating a better future.
In 2024, Youpret Finland achieved the prestigious B Corp sustainability certification. To achieve this esteemed sustainability certification, the company underwent a rigorous assessment process in which our performance and transparency in social, economic, and environmental responsibility were evaluated.
However, the B Corp certification is not the finish line but the beginning of a journey—one where we commit to using our business as a positive force for change and continuously improving our impact.
We have compiled key principles of our cultural practices in our cultural handbook. With this handbook, you can learn more about how we strive to create a better working life and a fairer society for all of us.
