Reykjavik, Iceland, 24 September 2025. Youpret, one of Finland’s leading interpreting services and a language technology company, has officially launched operations in Iceland. Founded in 2016, the company handles over 1,000 interpreting sessions daily, with Finnish and Swedish as the main source languages, and now also offers interpreting from Icelandic.
Youpret Iceland provides both on-site and remote interpreting by appointment, but what is new to the Icelandic market is instant interpreting. With Youpret’s technology, clients can be connected to an interpreter within just seconds, offering a more flexible and efficient solution than what has traditionally been available in Iceland.
At launch, Youpret offers interpreting from Icelandic into Polish, Arabic, Spanish, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Albanian and Romanian, with more languages continuously being added.
We are excited to launch Youpret Iceland! The interpreting market in Iceland is still developing: there are few providers, costs are high for clients, and interpreters often receive less than half of the client fee. At Youpret, the majority of the client fee always goes to the interpreters, and the division is fully transparent, says Guðmundur Freyr Magnús, CEO of Youpret Iceland.
The Youpret app helps maintain high interpreting quality: clients can rate each interpretation and provide feedback, mark favorite interpreters for future assignments, and review past sessions. All interpreters are bound by confidentiality agreements and committed to interpreters’ ethical guidelines.
