Youpret, a Finnish-founded company specialising in interpreting and translation services and language technology, celebrated its 10-year journey on Friday, June 12, 2026. The company, which has grown to be among Finland’s largest interpreting service providers, is known for its innovative technology as well as its people-centric and responsible operations.
Youpret, celebrating its tenth year of operations, originated from the personal experiences of Ali Giray, who himself came to Finland as a refugee: interpreting services needed to be made quickly and reliably available to the people who need them. Together with business veteran Teemu Purmonen and technology experts Heikki Vepsäläinen and Pekka Nurmela, the business idea was refined. In 2018, the entrepreneurs presented their idea on the television program Leijonan luola (Dragon’s Den), which inspired investor Kim Väisänen to join and accelerate the company’s growth.
Advanced technology, highly skilled language professionals, and responsibility enable growth
Youpret’s technology is developed by its in-house team and has placed the company on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Finland list for two consecutive years.

This has enabled the scaling of our services, the rapid adoption of new technologies, and the building of responsible AI solutions. The role of technology is to strengthen human expertise, not replace it", says Youpret co-founder and CTO Heikki Vepsäläinen.
Youpret’s most important partners, interpreters and translators, enable the broad service offering that covers over 120 different languages. With their language and cultural expertise, they facilitate mutual understanding and smooth interaction. This significant work lays the foundation for a more equal and equitable society.
Since its establishment, Youpret’s goal has been to be the most responsible operator in interpreting services. As proof of its responsible operating methods, Youpret received the prestigious B Corp certification in 2024. Integrity, cost-effectiveness, and transparency form Youpret’s strong core values, which Mikko Koponen, the CEO from March 2026, also wants to uphold. Youpret offers clients, interpreters, and partners a clear view of costs and comprehensive reporting.
Towards internationalisation with language technology
One new chapter in Youpret’s story has been international expansion. Operating models created in Finland have been decisively replicated in new markets. Youpret Iceland offers modern remote interpreting services in Iceland, and Youpret Baltic is making services accessible for everyone in the Baltic markets. Expanding abroad demonstrates that Youpret’s technology and service concept work internationally as well.
"Youpret is at an interesting stage where growth is combined with internationalisation and the technological disruption accelerated by artificial intelligence. The introduction of AI interpreting allows for a hybrid operating model, where human interpreters and AI interpreting are available in the same Youpret application.
